Cecilia Beard is a writer based in Brooklyn, but her heart belongs to North Carolina. Her fiction and essays have been published in Expat Press, Off Season, Off Assignment, and Catapult (RIP). She’s working on her debut novel, the first chapters of which won second place in the 2025 Masters Review Novel Excerpt Contest. She’s also pursuing an MFA in fiction at Brooklyn College.
